Instructions for Rifugio Vallanta

At the hut you won’t find hotel comforts, but a simple and sincere welcome. Shared rooms, basic facilities, and the warmth of a hot meal at altitude: the true mountain experience.

Hiking boots, a well-organized backpack, and layered clothing. Weather at altitude changes quickly: be prepared for sun, wind, or snow, even in summer.

The hut has limited places: booking is recommended.

Overnight stay in shared dormitories with mattresses, blankets and pillows. Mandatory: sleeping bag liner and pillowcase. Towels not provided, available for rent until out of stock.

Breakfast, dinner, and packed lunch with typical mountain hut cuisine. Warm, simple, and nourishing dishes.

The shower is available to guests when hot water is available.

Limited device charging. Only at certain times of the day. Not always available for all devices. Bring a power bank.

No network available. Here you find connection with nature.

The Vallanta Hut is a mountain hut accessible only on foot, located at 2,450 meters above sea level in the heart of Monviso.

The Vallanta Hut can be reached from Castello (Pontechianale), from the Pian del Re, or from the French side via the Guil Valley (Abriès).
